Singapore has welcomed the UN Security Council’s adoption of a US-drafted resolution supporting a plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the move an important step toward lasting peace and stressed the need to maintain the current ceasefire to ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians without delay.
Singapore stated it is ready to contribute to Gaza’s reconstruction once a permanent ceasefire is secured. The adopted plan includes a ceasefire and a hostage-release agreement already accepted by Israel and Hamas as part of its first phase.
The UN resolution received broad support, with most member states voting in favor. Singapore also expressed support for renewed dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to work toward a peaceful and prosperous coexistence. The government reiterated its backing for a negotiated two-state solution and emphasized respect for international law.
