China and Singapore have agreed to deepen cooperation in combating telecom fraud, online scams, and other cross-border crimes, as senior officials from both countries met in Beijing on Monday.
Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong said China is ready to strengthen coordination with Singapore across key areas including law enforcement, drug control, immigration management, and efforts against economic crime. He stressed the importance of improving cooperation mechanisms to deliver concrete results that benefit people in both countries.
Wang added that bilateral security cooperation should be guided by long-term strategic planning and built on the consensus reached by the two countries’ leaders, ensuring sustained and effective collaboration.
Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, K. Shanmugam, said Singapore is committed to maintaining close communication with China and expanding practical cooperation on law enforcement and security matters.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared interest in addressing evolving security threats through stronger coordination and joint action.
